Suzanne Tidwell, an up-and-coming fiber artist in the Seattle area, will decorate Bellevue Square's Fountain Court, the outdoor courtyard in front of Macy's on Bellevue Way, during the 65th annual Bellevue Arts Museum artsfair during Bellevue Arts Week, July 29, 30 & 31.

Entitled Experience Web: An Open Book, this newest street art creation will use a technique called Yarn Bombing. It is a highly decorative art form of temporary street art. Tidwell recently completed a well-received project in Seattle's Occidental Park where she wrapped the trees with brightly colored knitted sleeves (shown above).

This is an exciting new form of Street Art that is dynamic and colorful. The public can even join in "yarn bombing" Bellevue Square's Fountain Court, photograph their yarn bombs and post it on The Bellevue Collection's Facebook page (and be entered to win a $100 gift certificate). Attendees will be greeted by miles of brightly colored yarn that's wrapped, wound and woven into webs around individual book-shaped structures. Throughout the weekend, volunteers will support visitors of all ages in wrapping the frames with yarn.
