Event Description

"The Emmaus Trio" is Dr. Will Simpson, piano; Karin Islip, violin; and Lauren Root, cello. They enjoy performing both standard repertoire works as well as works that are unique and rarely performed.

This concert features Beethoven’s "Piano Trio opus 70 no. 2," a work of tremendous power and scope and one of Beethoven’s greatest chamber works; a Tango by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla; and the musically descriptive and beautiful piece "Circullo" by the Spanish composer Joaquin Turina.

Dr. Will Simpson is the Director of Music Ministries at Saint Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Karin Islip and Lauren Root are music teachers on the Eastside and are often heard in the Saint Andrew’s Orchestra and small ensembles.
