Event Description

The Community Corner program is a staple of AVPFirst programming. The organization outreaches and engages local underserved youth groups by inviting their participants to each AVP Pro Tour stop. While on site, AVPFirst provides an interactive skills clinic using AVP Pro athletes and coaches. Youth are educated on healthy lifestyles and positive choices through a Q & A with the pros.

The goal is to introduce the sport of beach volleyball and create lasting connections between the AVP Tour and these youth participants, as well as their families. At the conclusion of the clinic, the participants take part in an autograph and picture session then a “high 5” line experience on stadium court prior to the AVP Pro Tour championship matches. They finish the day courtside watching the top professional athletes battle it out in the finals matches.

The long range goal is to expose the kids to beach volleyball then assist each organization with the creation of their own in-house AVPFirst community league.
