Event Description

John Marzluff is a nationally known Professor of Wildlife Science at the University of Washington, and an expert in Ornithology. Part of the joy of gardening is observing and listening to our feathered friends. In his latest book, Welcome to Subirdia: Sharing our Neighborhoods with Wrens, Robins, Woodpeckers, and Other Wildlife, Dr. Marzluff reveals that our suburbs and city parks are often remarkably rich in bird diversity and play a key role in preventing loss of species in the face of the dramatic human disruptions and impacts. His lecture will provide specific strategies everyone can use to make human environments friendlier for our natural neighbors.
