Bellevue Chamber Chorus' Ben Luedcke, Artistic Director, presents: Second Concert of 41st Season – Vox Femina!

BELLEVUE CHAMBER CHORUS CELEBRATES WOMEN’S VOICES and creativity, as we partner with the Chamber Choir of Newport High School of Bellevue, directed by Nancy Fisher, to present choral music by esteemed modern female composers and arrangers in “Vox Femina.”
The Chorus will premiere a commissioned work, a new mixed-voice arrangement of Northwest composer Katerina Gimon’s piece, "Joy", in addition to music by Gwyneth Walker, Joan Szymko, Emma Lou Diemer, Rosephanye Powell, Jocelyn Hagen, Elaine Hagenberg, B.E. Boykin, Reena Esmail, and Jennifer Lucy Cook.
These pieces explore a variety of styles and vocal techniques, as the chorus mimics traditional Indian instruments and even a horse galloping through the night! With cello, percussion, and violin accompaniment, the choirs will combine to perform a traditional African folk song as well as “Crowded Table,” an arrangement by the popular group The Highwomen.

This inspiring program is a feast for the ears and heart, celebrating human experience through the lens of talented and musical women. Please join us for this special evening!
